4 Ways to Boost Sperm Health

Do you feel like when it comes to trying to conceive that the weight is all on your shoulders?  So many women do.

You may feel guilty or even ashamed that you’re not pregnant yet. Most of the blame is put on women, after all. We’re ever so aware of our biological clocks and the notion that our eggs bite the dust the second we turn 35.

The truth is...men have a biological clock, too. Studies prove the sperm quality begins to deteriorate when men turn 35.

Did you know that 40% of infertility problems are caused by male factor infertility?

And that male factor infertility may affect embryo development and possibly increase miscarriage risk?  In fact, 48% of miscarriages are thought to be due to abnormal sperm issues.

Did you know that even in IVF and ICSI procedures, if the sperm has a high percentage of damaged DNA, the pregnancy is more likely to end in miscarriage?

So what can you do to boost your partner’s sperm health?

1.) Load him up with antioxidants!

Many studies have proven the effectiveness of antioxidants in improving motility, count and morphology of sperm. 

That means tons of fruits and veggies. I think the easiest and most consistent way to supplement antioxidants is with a supergreens powder than can added to water every day. 2.) Avoid or minimize dairy, sugar, alcohol and caffeine.

At the very least, suggest that he avoid these no-no's around the time of ovulation. Studies show that alcohol affects sperm count and motility. Another study revealed that women have a higher chance of miscarrying if her partner drank alcohol at the time of conception.

3.) Keep the boys cool!

Take the laptop off his lap and his cell phone out of his pocket. These devices create heat.

Sperm are delicate little creatures; they wither up and die in the heat. On that note, he should avoid hot tubs, wear loose fitting cotton boxers, and stay off his bicycle.

4.) Acupuncture & acupressure

Studies prove that specific acupuncture points increase the health of sperm.
