Day 1 Video Transcript:

Welcome to Day 1 of the Mindful Fertility Tracking Program! Today you’ll focus on tracking your Liver system. in Chinese medicine, when we refer to any organ system, like the liver, we do not literally mean the liver, but rather the liver energetic system. So don’t worry – if your liver system is out of balance, or any other organ system, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with your organs from a western medical standpoint.

So what does the liver system do according to Chinese medicine? Well the liver system controls the circulation of energy throughout your entire body and your reproductive system. It also controls the circulation of blood to and from your uterus and ovaries throughout your entire cycle, including during ovulation and your period. Your liver energetic system influences the balance of your hormones throughout your cycle as well. So you can imagine that the liver system plays a very important role in fertility for these reasons.

When your liver system is out of balance, your fertility is directly affected. Almost everyone’s fertility issues involve their liver system so it’s very important to be mindful of keeping it in balance as best as you can. That’s where tracking your health with Chinese medicine comes in. The liver system is affected by all kinds of stress, including emotional stress, overwork, poor nutrition, irregular or not enough sleep, and toxic exposure.

Signs that your liver system may be out of balance include emotional symptoms like feeling irritable and moody, over-emotional, depressed, angry, indecisive or having trouble setting healthy boundaries. Some physical symptoms include having trouble falling asleep, muscle tension, joint pain, PMS symptoms, hormone-imbalances or stress-induced digestive symptoms like irritable bowel syndrome.

I go into more detail about how the liver system affects your fertility and how you can track the health of all your organ systems in my e-course, Empowered Fertility Tracking. But this short lesson is a great place to start tracking the health of your liver system and how it affects your fertility.

To make the most of this lesson, refer to day 1 on the Mindful Fertility Challenge Daily Tracker. Make note of the liver system imbalances that you experience. Try following the suggestions from the Daily Tracker to nurture your liver system today and make note of any changes you notice after applying awareness and taking empowered action. Soon enough you will begin to see the benefits of practicing mindful fertility tracking! And the longer and more consistently you continue to mindfully track your fertility, the more your fertility and overall health will improve!
