Day 3 Video Transcript:

Welcome to Day 3 of the Mindful Fertility Tracking Program! Today you’ll focus on tracking your Kidney system. I’ve said this before, but it’s worth mentioning repeatedly – In Chinese medicine, when we refer to any organ system, like the Kidney system, we do not literally mean those organs, but rather the kidney energetic system. So don’t worry – if your kidney system is out of balance from a Chinese medicine point of view, or any other organ system, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with your organs from a western medical standpoint.

So what does the kidney system do according to Chinese medicine? Well, it supports your reproductive system and the longevity of your overall health throughout life. Your kidney system supports your egg quality and quantity. It also supports reproductive processes including ovulation, implantation and pregnancy. If your kidney system energy is compromised, your body will begin to age more rapidly. So it’s vital to track the health of your kidney system because it can be very difficult to reverse and restore kidney system energy once it’s been drained.

The kidney system is affected by stress, overwork, not enough sleep and by chronic imbalances of the other organ systems, like your digestion. This is a perfect example of how the health of each organ system relies on each other, as does the health of your fertility.  Remember I mentioned in Day 2 that if your digestive system is weak, it will need to steal energy from your reproductive system and kidney system? Signs that your kidney system may be out of balance include mental and emotional symptoms like feeling fearful and afraid for your survival, feeling a lack of willpower, drained, depressed, aloof or insecure. Physical symptoms can include salt cravings, poor egg quality or sperm quality, diminished ovarian reserve, knee pain, low back pain, frequent urination, hot flashes, night sweats, ringing in the ears, poor hearing and poor short-term memory to name a few.

I go into more detail about how the kidney system affects your fertility and how you can track the health of all your organ systems in my e-course, Empowered Fertility Tracking. But this short lesson is a great place to start tracking the health of your kidney system and how it affects your fertility.

To make the most of this lesson, refer to day 3 on the Mindful Fertility Challenge Daily Tracker. Make note of the kidney system imbalances that you experience. Try following the suggestions from the Daily Tracker to nurture your digestive system today and make note of any changes you notice after applying awareness and taking empowered action. Soon enough you will begin to see the benefits of practicing mindful fertility tracking! And the longer and more consistently you continue to mindfully track your fertility, the more your fertility and overall health will improve!
