Day 5 Video Transcript:

Welcome to Day 5 of the Mindful Fertility Tracking Program! Today you’ll focus on tracking your Heart system. Ok, this is the last time I’ll say it- In Chinese medicine, when we refer to any organ system, like the Heart system, we do not literally mean those organs, but rather the Heart energetic system. So don’t worry – if your Heart system is out of balance from a Chinese medicine point of view, or any other organ system, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with your organs from a western medical standpoint.

So what does the Heart system do according to Chinese medicine? Well, the Heart system helps make healthy new blood cells and circulates blood throughout your body and to your reproductive system. The Heart is also responsible for getting good quality sleep and keeping your nervous system healthy. If your nervous system is overactive, you will release excessive amounts of stress hormones which will shut down the production of reproductive hormones like progesterone. If your heart system is out of balance, this will also drain your reproductive system and cause hormone imbalances. This is why you need to track the health of your Heart system to keep your entire body and fertility healthy.

Signs that your Heart system may be out of balance include mental and emotional symptoms like anxiety, lack of joy, or excessive hysteria or mania. You may feel easily startled, restless or confused or have trouble staying asleep. Physical symptoms can include disturbed or vivid dreaming, heart palpitations or increased heart rate, excessively talking, poor memory, concentration and focus, or hormone imbalances like a short follicular or luteal phase. You may have poor circulation to the reproductive organs with symptoms like clots or dark menstrual flow, cramping or a thin lining.

I go into more detail about how the Heart system affects your fertility and how you can track the health of all your organ systems in my e-course, Empowered Fertility Tracking. But this short lesson is a great place to start tracking the health of your Heart system and how it affects your fertility.

To make the most of this lesson, refer to day 5 on the Mindful Fertility Challenge Daily Tracker. Make note of the Heart system imbalances that you experience. Try following the suggestions from the Daily Tracker to nurture your Heart system today and make note of any changes you notice after applying awareness and taking empowered action. Soon enough you will begin to see the benefits of practicing mindful fertility tracking! And the longer and more consistently you continue to mindfully track your fertility, the more your fertility and overall health will improve!
